Welcome to our Second on-farm Jalex Select sale. A hand picked selection of over 200 quality in-calf heifers from the Jalex Herd.
Auctioneer Richard Beattie will be commencing the sale at 12 noon sharp at the Alexander farm, 88 Gloverstown Road, BT41 3HY.
Online bidding is also available via MartEye. Viewing on-farm on 17th April STRICTLY 10am - 3pm.
Cattle purchased online can be collected in the week after the sale. (STRICTLY NO SUNDAY COLLECTION)
All cattle can be exported. All cattle sold to mainland UK can be delivered to Andrew Ewing’s yard in Annan.
For ROI buyers we have arranged central collection points - for buyers in the West of the country, we can deliver them to Heery Tractors in Bailieborough , Ballina Mart, Carnew Mart, Gortatlea Mart and McParlands Yard, Dundalk can all be used as drop off/collection centres.

Description: One of the best: colour, muscle, plates and possibly the widest/squarest beast in the sale today. This an outstanding heifer and is as quiet as a lamb. must be seen in the flesh to be appreciated.
Full of breeding too, her mother is bred from a pure Lim x Empire back to Munster AI bull DBZ and her father is a fantastic, proven breeding Charolais X BB bull purchased in Carrick. Her grandmother is still rearing calves at 11 years old with plenty of milk.
If this doesn’t breed the calves I’m not sure what will.

Description: In my opinion this is one of the best heifers forward for the sale, she is not the muscliest or the most powerful I know, but she is so balanced, long, stylish, square, great top, perfectly correct and a head that is always up with those big hairy ears.
I think this is one to produce show winning calves, she has the length, style and presence already there, just needs a good bull and a bit of luck.

Description: This is arguably the best heifer in the sale of her type, she is an absolute tank, a show beast and one to breed a show beast. We had her planned for showing last back end but she just wasn’t ready and we decided to hold her back for this sale. Power, muscle, top and what an end with a beautiful tiny head.
She held 1st time we tried her and is carrying a heifer calf.
She is by the super breeding Adajio De Bray (by Empire) she is 50% BB, 34% Lim and 13% Charolais.

Ken is a Kaprico Eravelle son shown in the photos below, he has a calving value of 1.7% on beef cows.
She weighs 860 kgs.

Description: Cracker is a very special heifer. Purchased privately from Neil Hardisty for showing last year as a Christmas present for my children, the family committee has had a meeting and permission has reluctantly been granted to offer her for sale on the condition that all monies are to fund a new family project involving sheep that I’m not very keen on.
She is a beautiful heifer: - colour, muscle, temperament, an asset to any herd, ideal heifer for a flushing programme.
She has never been tried with the bull and is well fit to be shown this year.
Sired by Uptonely Living The Dream who bred calves to £7000 and £5000 in Carlisle in March 2021 for Neil.
